Savio Lau-Yuen Woo is a Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at the University of Pittsburgh. Holding a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington, he is a trailblazer in biomedical engineering, focusing on orthopaedic biomechanics, ligament/tendon healing, and sports medicine. As the founding president of WACBE, he is an Emeritus Fellow of BMES, Fellow of IAMBE, and inaugural Fellow of ORS and ASB, with honors including the IEEE Gold Medal and IOC Prize for Sports Science.
