Prof. Jun Chen is an Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Bioengineering at University of California, Los Angeles, where he leads pioneering research in wearable bioelectronics, soft materials, and biointegrated systems for personalized healthcare. He is internationally recognized for discovering giant magnetoelastic effects in soft matter, enabling new generations of waterproof and biocompatible bioelectronic devices. Prof. Chen has published extensively in leading journals including Nature Materials, Nature Electronics, and Nature Biomedical Engineering, and holds multiple U.S. patents. He was elected Fellow of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering in 2026 and has received numerous honors, including the 2025 Materials Research Society Outstanding Early-Career Investigator Award for his outstanding contributions to next-generation biomedical engineering and translational bioelectronics.
